Citing
job search portal Phil-Job.net’s data, Labor Secretary Rosalinda
Dimapilis-Baldoz said the sales industry tops the list of jobs with
11,971 vacancies in various offices nationwide.
“This is good
news especially for parents who have children to support and to the new
graduates who now have their turn in supporting their siblings’
education,” Baldoz said.
The cabinet member noted call center
industry remains to be the second biggest employer, with a need for
about 8,888 agents as of May 29.
There are also vacancies for the following jobs:
Service crew - 8,757 vacancies
Technical support staff - 6,458 vacancies
Production workers/factory workers - 5,180 vacancies
Sales clerk - 5,003 vacancies
Cashier - 4,708 vacancies
Production machine operator - 2,823 vacancies
Customer service assistant - 2,718 vacancies
Office clerk - 1,969 vacancies
Janitor - 1,863 vacancies
Merchandiser - 1,718 vacancies
Security guard - 1,418 vacancies
Production technician - 1,369 vacancies
Sales officer - 1,300 vacancies
Head waiter - 1,234 vacancies
Promo girl - 1,228 vacancies
Janitress - 1,216 vacancies
and promo salesperson, 1,146 vacancies
Baldoz
advised jobseekers to be more patient in their job hunt, explaining
that recruiters are having a hard time getting applicants with
competencies that match their job description.
She also encouraged job seekers to improve their qualification by taking technical-vocational course related to their craft.
The labor chief advised students to consider the current market demands for jobs in choosing a college course.
